Tiny Homes are Available in Newfoundland

How large does your home really need to be? Do you need two thousand or even three thousand square feet of living space? If you do, maybe you should ask yourself why? I mean it is great if you can afford that type of luxury, but a lot of people are living paycheck to paycheck and are house poor because they thought they needed a mansion.

tiny house in newfoundlandWhat if you could survive and maybe even thrive in a much smaller home? I am not talking about 1500 square feet or even 1000 square feet. I am talking about less than 200 square feet. Yes there are people that live in homes that are that small. I think you would have to live alone or with one other person at the most, but it is possible. It would certainly take some getting used to, but almost anyone could learn to at least survive in a home that small. Especially if you had some financial hardships and you had no choice. But even if that was not the case, you could eventually get used to the idea of living in a home that is not much larger than a match box.

So what would be the advantages of living in home so small? The obvious answer would be the cost but many people would like this type of living because you could literally haul your home anywhere you like and live off the grid. These houses come equipped with solar panels and generators so you could still enjoy modern living in the back country.

These homes come with modern appliances and lots of windows to take advantage of the natural light during the day. They are designed to use each square foot as efficiently as possible to make sure you can have a good quality of life in one of these homes.

The only problem you might encounter is where to park your house. Even if you go out in the middle of nowhere, someone may complain because someone owns the middle of nowhere and they may not appreciate you parking your home on their property. Like anything in life you would need to do your homework and ask lots of questions before you buy a tiny home. The other consideration is where do you put all your stuff when you decide to move into a home that is a fraction the size of your previous house. I guess you would have to utilize storage facilities or just sell everything that you don’t really need.

First Quarter Real Estate Market Doing Well in Conception Bay North

If you are near the Avalon Peninsula in the Conception bay area, you will be interested to know that the real estate market is doing very well so far in 2016. Pam Norman of Exit Realty says that now is a great time to sell and that her team of agents has been very busy so far this year.

Pam says that her team has already done 41 deals and that things are not slowing down at all. She attributes the great market to more people moving back to Newfoundland from other energy producing regions like Alberta and Saskatchewan. Those regions are suffering their greatest downturn in many years, so many people have been laid off from their high paying jobs in the oil industry. Of course, the downturn in energy prices is affecting Newfoundland as well, but not to the same extent as it is hurting those other provinces.

Pam feels that the market fundamentals are strong and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. She feels that all the benefits the area of Conception bay have to offer potential buyers looking for a great place to live, will keep the local real estate market vibrant and active.
