Newfoundland Birding is a growing segment of the Newfoundland tourism industry. Newfoundland is home to the most southerly colony of Thick-billed Murres here at the Cape St. Mary’s Seabird Ecological Reserve. See Bald Eagles, Ravens and other predator birds that you may not associate with Newfoundland. See nesting Water Pipits and Horned Larks on the upland barrens.
Also present are large colonies of Northern Gannet, Common Murre, Black-Legged Kittiwake, Cormorants, and over 1000 nesting pairs of Thick-Billed Murre; plus 60 nesting pairs of Black Guillemot, and over 150 pairs of Razorbill. Newfoundland has one of the most diverse populations of birds anywhere in North America. Newfoundland is birding paradise!
